Please read these terms carefully before using the EAU Galkio Student Union platform. By registering, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the EAU Galkio Student Union platform ("Platform", "we", "us"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must not access or use this platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes your ongoing agreement to these terms.
Eligibility
This Platform is intended primarily for students, faculty, and staff affiliated with East Africa University (EAU). By registering, you represent that:
- You are at least 16 years of age.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
- You will provide accurate, truthful, and complete information during registration.
- You are a current or prospective student, staff, or invited guest of EAU or the Galkio Student Union.
User Accounts & Security
When you create an account on Galkio, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Platform Use
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful, educational, and community-building purposes. The following are strictly prohibited:
Prohibited Activities
- Posting false, misleading, or defamatory content.
- Harassing, threatening, or bullying other users.
- Sharing copyrighted content without permission.
- Attempting to hack, scrape, or exploit the Platform.
- Using the Platform for commercial advertising without approval.
- Impersonating any person, faculty member, or EAU official.
- Uploading malicious software, viruses, or harmful code.
Community & Content Standards
All posts and contributions to the Galkio community are subject to moderation. By submitting content, you:
- Grant Galkio a non-exclusive license to display your content on the Platform.
- Confirm that your content does not infringe on any third-party rights.
- Agree that community posts undergo administrator review before publishing.
- Accept that we may remove any content that violates these terms at any time.
Privacy & Data
Your privacy is important to us. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that we collect and process certain personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy, including:
- Your name and email address provided during registration.
- Profile information you voluntarily add (bio, avatar, etc.).
- Content you post on the community feed.
- Usage data such as courses enrolled and progress.
Termination & Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms or conduct deemed harmful to the community or Platform integrity.
You may also delete your own account at any time from your Dashboard settings. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by applicable law.
